About me
At home in a variety of styles, violinist Abbie Steiling fuses her creative improvisational skills with technique that is rooted in her classical foundation. She has performed with ensembles ranging from symphonic orchestras and chamber groups to jazz ensembles and rock bands. Currently, she is a member of the touring progressive rock band, Pavlov's Dog, in which she plays electric violin and sings back-up vocals. Several tracks from their most recent recordings, Echo and Boo (2010) and Live and Unleashed (2010) feature her on violin. She is a founding member and contributing composer of the jazz-fusion group, Steizuello. She performs regularly with the St. Louis-based country band, Hillbilly Authority and can also be seen with the Nashville-based country group, broadBAND.
