Corey Woodruff

A sweaty, sold-out crowd packed the Firebird to witness the long-awaited return of joke-punk pioneers the Dead Milkmen.

Eschewing the formality of an opening act, Soundgarden was all business at the Pageant on Tuesday night.

An intense gathering of headbangers spanning multiple generations, Sunday night's show at Pop's featured four of the sweatiest, loudest and hairiest live acts working today.

Texas songwriter Robert Earl Keen started his show with a middle finger aimed at Johnny Cash, addressing the iconic photo that hangs above the Off Broadway bar with, "What did I ever do to you, Johnny?"

By the time hardcore quintet Every Time I Die took the stage, the sold-out Firebird crowd had already been pummeled by openers Thrills and Kills and had witnessed the Chariot's equally furious set, which featured guitarist Stephen Harrison playing upside-down while hanging from the venue's ceiling.

One year after their inaugural duo performance, Ryan Spearman and Pokey LaFarge reunited at the Sheldon Concert Hall to celebrate the unification of KDHX and the Folk School in a concert featuring classic folk tunes and old-timey takes on modern songs.

Chaotic riffs and thunderous drumming reigned supreme as the Rockstar Mayhem Festival descended upon Verizon Wireless Amphitheater.

The tenth annual Forecastle Festival took place July 13-15 at Waterfront Park in downtown Louisville, Kentucky.

It was a meeting of metal titans Thursday night at the Firebird as NYC hardcore stalwarts Unsane opened for sludge metal veterans the Melvins. A showcase of powerhouse dual drumming and high decibel riffs ensued.
