The summer of 2010 saw the emergence of incredible growth of the St. Louis music community.

STL Loud is on its third volume and is going strong. The showcase on 11/11/11 featured five bands: Firedog, The Reeling Gilly, Superhero Killer, RIP (filling in for Rockwell Knuckles) and The Funky Butt Brass Band.

The Australian Pink Floyd Show lit up the Fox and filled the massive stage with a constant hazy fog on Friday night.

Phantom Limb's songs provoke a sense of solitude and a serious strain of thoughtfulness.

A sold out crowd greeted Death Cab for Cutie with open arms Sunday night at the Pageant.

Alison Krauss & Union Station performance was well recieved by the crowd at the Fabulous Fox Theater on Thursday night.

A spooky moon shone down on us the night Fiction Is Fun, from Denver, filled the still air of downtown St. Louis. The band boasts a sound that makes you want to grab a pint, throw your arm around the nearest person and sing your heart out with them.

Last weekend was St. Louis' hottest two day indie music festival, Loufest. Loufest 2011 featured TV On The Radio, Deerhunter, Questlove, Cat Power, The Hold Steady, the Low Anthem, Lost in the Trees, Ume, and many more bands.

On a blistering hot afternoon in mid-July, we chatted with Ian Fisher after shooting this One Take video on the vast expanse of the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater's parking lot, in the midst of some haunting Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow soundchecks.

Cults took the stage last night at the Firebird and it was as if Christmas came early.
