Last weekend was St. Louis' hottest two day indie music festival, Loufest. Loufest 2011 featured TV On The Radio, Deerhunter, Questlove, Cat Power, The Hold Steady, the Low Anthem, Lost in the Trees, Ume, and many more bands.

On a blistering hot afternoon in mid-July, we chatted with Ian Fisher after shooting this One Take video on the vast expanse of the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater's parking lot, in the midst of some haunting Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow soundchecks.

Cults took the stage last night at the Firebird and it was as if Christmas came early. 

Off Broadway was packed like a sauna full of sardines for Josh Ritter, Friday night. By the end of the night everyone walked out, including the musicians, drenched in sweat. 

Dots Not Feathers opened the evening announcing the release of their new EP, Come Back To Bed. They dressed the stage and doused the audience with harmonies and intricate instrumentals.

The Head and the Heart came straight to St. Louis after Bonnaroo and put on an unforgettable, heartfelt show.

The Old Rock House was inched up to the very edge of the stage for David Bazan's sometimes grungy, sometimes soft-and-melodic but always insightful tunes.

The RFT Music Showcase took over Washington Avenue on Saturday, June 5th. It was so big I put three photographers on the case and boy did they deliver.

Theodore got down and dirty last night at Off Broadway, Friday, May 20.
