Thanks for your interest in getting involved with KDHX!
KDHX is continuing to broaden its scope by consistently making new content available on our website. The Web Journalism and Communications intern will help create content for KDHX.org and the KDHX Blog.
KDHX DJs are volunteers who are given complete creative control over their own shows - the music department does not make decisions about what the DJs will play. The primary role of the music department is to maintain a library of releases, new and old, for DJs to use for their programs, to facilitate in-studio performances and interviews, generate web content, and to improve the servicing we get from record labels.
KDHX staff and management are dedicated to the facilitation of volunteer training and production, but our broadcast channels and business offices require consistent high-quality visual graphics, marketing and PR materials. Graphics and design interns assist in designing and producing visual communications for KDHX Radio and .ORG
The Production Department at KDHX Community Media manages audio and video production facilities and resources, and trains, facilitates, and supervises volunteers to produce broadcast-quality video for our YouTube channel. Video production interns assist with general video production tasks, while assisting and supervising our volunteer producers, and keeping our production process running.
The KDHX Studios host over a hundred national and regional artists and bands every year. The live performance engineer makes them sound great on air. This is a highly skilled, technical position, so experience is quite useful, but training will be provided, and volunteers are encouraged to observe and assist in producing sessions to gain experience.
We regularly need assistance from volunteers in producing messages from sponsors and messages for "KDHX Welcomes," which helps promote KDHX-sponsored and KDHX-friendly events. Public Service Announcements (PSAs) are service messages, written by volunteers in KDHX format, from non-profit organization press releases and bulletin submissions.
With the rise of YouTube, music and concert videos are ubiquitious, but the best ones require a keen eye, good equipment and the skills to use that gear. KDHX Community Media is looking for volunteers interested in honing their behind-the-lens skills while documenting the great music (and other events) presented live in our studios and at The Stage.
