Monkey See, Monkey Goes...Boldly

I should know. I should know that it's coming. Better yet, I should prepare...tune my brain to the “frenetic” setting, and then give it a notch more.

When one thinks of video games, they may think of the finesse of pushing all the right buttons on the controller, or of the awesome colors and graphics that some newer gaming platforms (Wii, Xbox, Playstation) have.

A good comedy is comprised of many key elements. It must have clear and snappy dialog. There should be jokes and gags, both of a physical nature and layered within the banter.

A creature was found living in a cave "many miles to the South" near the West Virginian coal-mining town of Hope Falls.

'Playland' immerses, incites and illuminates

Mustard Seed Theatre presents "Playland," the story of two men wrestling with inner demons played out upon the grounds of a traveling amusement park in South Africa. The black box theatre at Fontbonne University is a malleable space. Having both painted and acted in the theatre, I am somewhat smitten with its versatility.

I am an Agatha Christie "newbie." I have never read one book, nor seen any staged production written by the mystery author. I was not familiar with the quick-witted, dust-loathing detective, M. Hercule Poirot, who has appeared in more than 30 of Christie's novels and short stories. The sleuth also appears in Black Coffee, Christie's first and only mystery that was originally written as a play.
