Coming back from SXSW, my ears and feet hurt, but a LOT of great electronica stuff going on this weekend in Saint Louis that I can't resist! Starting tonight:
Thursday, March 24: Class Actress, Millionyoung and Née at the Old Rock House. Millionyoung's great remix of Memoryhouse's "To the Lighthouse" is fun dance pop, and on further listening of Memoryhouse's original tracks I'm fully prepared to drench myself in synths and soaring vocals. Looking forward to Class Actress' dark electronic pop as well as local opener, Née - whose new album is reviewed by the RFT here.
Friday, March 25: Claude VonStroke at Koken Art Factory. Detroit houser ("Who's Afraid of Detroit") Barclay Crenshaw is a great mixer, and founder of the dirtybird and mothership labels. No official party flyer/info, but pretty legit word of mouth.
Friday, March 25: Get Serious at Atomic Cowboy. A great way to find some new favorite tracks!
Saturday, March 26: Jay Fay EP Release Party w/ 18andCounting and Cor(e)yography. Peep the EP here.
Saturday, March 26: London Calling at the Gramophone. Make it a late night!
Sunday, March 27: Mount Kimbie, Jay Fay and Soundclash (18andCounting, Black Spade, and DJ Needles) at Luminary Center for the Arts. Yessss.
Sunday, March 27: Free Dance Party at the Firebird w/ The Breaks, Palace, Found Future, and DJ Trashtalk.
...Oh, did you need to sleep?
