Some great events starting this weekend and stretching into next week, sort of in conjunction with Halloween. If you have an elaborate costume, I highly recommend wearing it to ALL of these shows. :) Starting tonight:
Thursday, October 27: Miami Horror w/Machines Are People Too at the Gargoyle at Wash U. I know they don't serve alcohol. Just watch part of the game at home and gulp it down before your responsible driver friend takes you to this show. While I'd prefer to see Alan Polomo (of Neon Indian) perform their collaborated tracks live, I'm still anxious to fill my ears with "I Look to You" and "Holidays." The few tracks I've heard from Machines Are People Too will probably get me there early.
Friday, October 28: Night of the Living Dread at the Gramophone. Mario Pascal and KDHX's very own Nappy DJ Needles will be spinning. Needles better dress up as "Nodzilla."
Friday, October 28: Get Serious One Year Anniversary Halloween hosted by DOP at Atomic Cowboy. Some of my favorite local party makers here!! superconductor, Billy Brown, and Cor(E)yography. Get seriously partied on. (You decide what that means.)
Monday, October 31: 2LEGIT HALLOWEEN at Blueberry Hill. Cor(E)yography & DJ Mahf will easily make a killer soundtrack to your night.
Monday, October 31: a KING KONG MAGNETICS HALLOWEEN at Found Future at Upstairs Lounge. Josh and Woody add some hip hop into your life. And smiles.
Tuesday, November 1: I'm DJing at the Royale, 10 p.m. to close. You're all rested up from the weekend, right? Didn't quite finish your Halloween costume but now have time? Or even if you blew your party load and aren't quite ready for their tasty specialty drinks, just come out for a soothing hot toddy. I get toasty toes just thinking about it!
Thursday, November 3: Skrillex w/12th Planet, Two Fresh, Nadastrom at the Pageant - SOLD OUT. If you're going, Nadastrom (the creators of Moombahton) at 7:30 p.m. is where it's at. No DJ listed for the Halo Bar yet...so where's the afterparty?
