  • I always enjoy the show but that is especially so for today! I am addicted to the new Cold War Kids album and loved hearing Bulldozer. I was happy to hear it has grown on you. In my case Yours is Mine was an instant love whereas my fondness for Loyalty to Loyalty took a bit more time.

It's hard to believe no one's replied to this thread since January! Lately, my wife and I have been trying our hand at making sorbet. The best sorbet I ever tasted was a pear sorbet, so that's the first I tried to make. It was pretty bad, tasted like canned pears (yuk!). After that was a concord grape that was crazy good. My wife, who used to work at Nestle, wanted a chocolate sorbet. We bought some great 60% cocoa chocolate bars at Vivianos on the Hill and set out to try our hand. BIG success, maybe the most chocolatey thing I've ever tasted. Other than those, it's usually pastas made with whatever is in the vegetable bin in the fridge, or a risotto with mushrooms, lemon zest and parmesan. All of which explains why we're still enrolled at Jenny Craig.

OK, how about "Lucky Guy" by Todd Rundgren off "Hermit of Mink Hollow," or maybe "Plainclothes Man" by HeatMiser, off "Mic City Sons?" Thanks Cat!

Lovin' the new Decemberists, simple but really beautiful. I also dig the first track from the upcoming Elbow album as well that you've played. Anxious to hear new Cold War Kids and Tapes 'n Tapes.

Ooooh, some new things for me to look into as well! I really like the new Decemberists, so far, but I need to delve deeper. I've said it before, but I'm very impatiently waiting for Radiohead to finally get their latest out. Hopefully it won't be too far into the year before it's released.

How about Cameo Broach by the Courteeners (pronounced Cortinas.... how silly is that?). I was rather enjoying that in last night's evening drive :-) Cheers

The new Radiohead was being predicted for sometime in 2010 as early as January 2010, but obviously nothing has happened. I believe they have scratched the entire first attempt and started over. I think Elbow did the same thing, actually. Glad you liked the Lee Dorsey set; sometimes I wonder if my connections many any sense to anyone other than myself so it's nice to hear that they occasionally do. : )
