PlaylistDear fans of FLGH.
Tonight is the big spring party for all members of 88.1 KDHX, Midwest Mayhem at the City Museum. I hope you'll come party with me and all the DJs at KDHX.
Along with a bunch of great bands, burlesque dancers and other DJs, I'll be spinning records from 10:15 p.m.-10:45 p.m. on the mezzanine. Joining me on the wheels of steel is my good friend and fellow KDHX DJ, John Wendland, host of Memphis to Manchester.
And if you don't have plans for tomorrow, Friday night, come on out to the Royale for a big, all-night DJ party, also with John Wendland. We'll be out on the patio, spinning soul, R&B, rock, pop and country -- all vinyl, all night! Spin starts at 7 p.m. and we go all the way to closing time.

What a great idea for a discussion, and I'd love to hear what other people think. Thanks for the kind words and thoughtful topic.
I think music and songs and words can shape our world, but not in the ways that the uptight ear-sniffers targeted by Snider think. They can change the world but they can't make the world, or individuals, do their bidding -- as if songs even have intentions of bidding -- in a vacuum. You are so right that songs spring from our experience in life -- and ultimately, not the other way around.
One of the most wonderful things about being involved with KDHX -- whether as a DJ, Web Editor or just regular listener -- is the constant discovery, not just of new music, but of good music, great songs, sounds and stories that leave an impression. I'm glad that I could share some of that with you this morning.

How could I forget that Chimes of Freedom set? Yes, I want to hear that, very much.
Hey, Roy, I saw there are only 12 performances up from the Bobfest, er, shot of love show. I was hoping to see that PLE version of Baby Blue most of all, any chance for that one?
Hey Mike. That MMJ record is starting to sink in. It took a little while. I love the title track to the Hayes record but for some reason the rest hasn't stuck. But great picks. I think I've underrated the BJL record, for sure.
Keith: If I didn't have a girlfriend and if Ms. Washburn didn't have Mr. Fleck, I would move to her city of refuge.
