FLGH Best of 2012

Dear friends and fans.

I hope you had a wonderful holiday and are having a healthy and happy new year so far.

Round about this time each year I enjoy taking a look back at the new music I've most loved for the last 365 odd days and nights. New music is a big part of my life, and lists, while always a bit provisional, help me savor and share the sounds and songs that have stuck with me over the year -- and will, I'm sure, into the coming years.

A number of other DJs and KDHX music writers have also been reflecting on the year in music. The diversity of the lists is pretty amazing. Check them all out here:

KDHX's Best of 2012

Now on to my year-end list: I aired the first half of my annual Top 80 Countdown last week. This week, on Wednesday, January 2, from 7-10 a.m. Central, we'll go #40-#1. I hope you can tune in and enjoy the music with me.

And not to spoil the countdown, but I figured I'd share the full list with you all now.

Thanks for reading and for listening!

I am continually amazed at how much new music I like. I have also been getting some suggestions from All Songs Considered, like the Black Twig Pickers. The podcast won't let me cut and paste their list, but it's worth a look.
