FLGH sneak preview - January 12, 2012

Tuesday, 10 January 2012

Dearest fans of FLGH.

It's a new year and time for new experiments. So here we go.

Every Tuesday afternoon (or evening as the case may be), I'll be giving you a sneak peek at some of the music you'll hear on Feel Like Going Home on the following Wednesday morning. And I'll also share an MP3 or video of one of the tracks I'll be featuring on the show.

This week we'll be digging into some brand new (or newish) releases by Kathleen Edwards, Laura Gibson, Heartless Bastards, Bowerbirds, John K. Samson and Charlie Parr. We'll also hear some classic cuts by Bruce Springsteen, the Flaming Lips, Lee Dorsey and the late great Howard Tate.

Borrowing (or is it stealing?) from my friend Dr. Jeff -- who does a great "Pick Hit of the Week" for his show the Big Bang! -- here's my under-the-radar pick hit of the week. The song is called "Suitcase," and it's the new single by a band from the UK called Standard Fare.

Enjoy, and see you on the radio!
