Bruce B's Chicken Shack Alley playlist has confirmed what I've come to suspect during the last few hours today. See, ALL the DJs are surpassing themselves, some in leaps and others in bounds, this weekend. I think it's to remind folks, the weekend before the spring membership drive, how superlative KDHX is. And how much just plain fun!
The FALL DRIVE begins with my show at 5am-7am this Thursday…Rhythm Highways with East Side Slim. Please consider a donation to the 2014 KDHX FALL DRIVE. You can call 314-925-7514, or you can donate on-line at www.kdhx.org - just click on the red "Donate Now" link in the upper right of the KDHX homepage. In advance, THANK YOU!!!
Bummed I can't play ANY Archive files, and the Listen Live no longer offers the "iTunes" option, which allowed me flexibility to catch shows "when I'm at work"--by rewinding the stream a few hours when I get home. Up here in Springfield IL the live radio signal has been stamped out for many years by various unwelcome Christian broadcasters e.g. one outside Quincy IL right on 88.1. So Donate? Hmm.
Well, this ought to be fun. Tomorrow (Tuesday 2/14) I have the distinct honor & pleasure of filling in for Sunny Boy Mason on "Howzit Bayou?" from 4-7 PM. I only know enough about Louisiana music to be dangerous but we'll just have a good time with it & everything should be cool. Laissez les bons temps rouler!
