The KDHX Fall Membership Drive begins tomorrow (Thursday 10/4) !!!

Wednesday, 03 October 2012

Alright, it is impassioned plea time. The KDHX Fall Membership Drive begins tomorrow (Thursday 10/4) at 5 AM. This is a cause that is near and dear to my heart because radio stations like KDHX are a rare and precious thing. When done right (and KDHX does it right), people within the community (whether it be the St. Louis metropolitan area or those much further away joined through the internet and social media) are given a voice and the diversity of viewpoints, interests, passions, and knowledge can have a far-reaching and lasting effect. It can, dare I say it, make life in the St. Louis area and life among the wider KDHX community created through independent media more enriching.  Be it through the music, the web and media content, the arts and event calendars, the local talk programming, the events put on in the community by KDHX, and beyond, it can be simply stated (and has been in the TV series, The Wire) that all the pieces matter. This is worth supporting. Nothing would be better than to come out of the gate on day one of the KDHX Fall Membership Drive really strong. Please consider pledging your support to the finest radio station in St. Louis, the  Midwest, and beyond by calling 314-664-3688 or by going on-line at www.kdhx.org.  This is our 25th year of existence. This is huge. This should not be taken for granted. The more people support 88.1 KDHX, the more we all benefit. Thanks.

Tower of Song: A Tribute to Leonard Cohen and 80th Birthday Party Leonard Cohen started out as a poet, and poetry -- ecstatic, spiritual, erotic and political -- suffuses all of his work. When he launched a career as a songwriter and singer in the '60s, only Bob Dylan could match his visionary...
