On Sunday, September 30th, there will be a concert of Iranian music based on the poetry of Rumi (born 805 years ago in what is now Afghanistan, and whose mystical works resemble love poetry). The performance will be at Steinberg Hall on the Washington University campus, beginning tat 6pm. The proceeds of the concert will go toward the Iranian Earthquake Relief fund. The Chakavak ensemble of Washington, DC, as well as celebrated Iranian musicians now living in St. Louis, will ber performing. There will also be a lecture on Sufism and Irfan philosophy.
