Of course there are many more records than the somewhat arbitrary ten
that I placed in my list, so here is a quick list of some other
recommended artists who put out music that I liked this year:
Devotchka, Tinariwen, The Ex, Handsome Furs, Mike Doughty, Femi Kuti,
Paul Simon, Haley Bonar, Tom Russell, Jesse Sykes, Richard Buckner,
Nicole Atkins, Pistolera, Tori Amos, Mr. Gnome, Meat Puppets and Wild Flag.
There were also plenty of good local releases this year. Among my
favorites were Sleepy Kitty, In Transit, Rusty Nail, Campfire Club and
Humdrum.
