First wave. If it doesn't sound like it was recorded in someone's bathroom, it doesn't do it for me.
Seriously though, I do like more modern stuff but there's something special about the old school sound. There are some amazing vocalists that came up in that time, most notably Justin Hinds and Desmond Dekker.
