Featured on his NBC-TV special, "Very Special" April 25, 1969 - with his cover of a tune originally recorded by the Doors and became a hit for them in January 1967 - Jose Feliciano with "Light My Fire." Feliciano's arrangement ended up being the most popular version of the song, and earned him not only the #1 spot on the charts in the summer of 1968, but also the Grammy Award for Best New Artist and Best Pop Song Of The Year in 1969.
