Trip Inside This House Recommends (Shows, Feb. - April, 2011)

Great new shows are suddenly popping up like so many fungi! In case you're not paying attention, here are some I'm quite interested in:

Wed 2/16 Jonathan Richman – Off Broadway

Sat 2/19 Thee Oh Sees – Gargoyle

Sat 3/12 Fleshtones w/ Bunnygrunt – Off Broadway

Sun 3/13 Obits with Jaill – Firebird

Tues 3/22 The Greenhornes – Firebird

Fri 4/8 Raveonettes – Firebird

Tues 4/19 The Fresh and Onlys w/Crocodiles - Billiken Club

Fri 4/22 The Black Angels – Old Rock House

* Dates in bold type indicate recently added, as of this writing. Support the live local music scene when and as you can, thus ensuring a vibrant future for the clubs who take the risk to book these great bands coming to St. Louis.   -valis

Your "recommends" spurred me to see what's coming up locally (central NC), and the Raveonnettes are going to be in Chapel Hill (more or less) 9 days after they hit STL. Sweet.

I will be taking doowadette and her friends to Cicero's this Saturday. Local (mostly) high school bands, all on myspace if you want to preview.

They are plaing the early show (at 5 pm).

Looks like St. Louis is going to have a LOT of fun over the next few months. Glasgow, Scotland was lucky enough to have some of these bands last year and none let down. A couple of these bands I'll have to go check out in cyber space myself now too. Hopefully we'll see them live on our shores sometime soon.
