St. Louis resident Rev. Matt opened the show at the Gramophone on Saturday night with his two-piece band -- Matt on resonator guitar and a player on upright bass. He has a new CD out titled "Still Fight Left in These Fists," and he played everything from bluegrass to rockabilly to country.

Veteran Americana performers Guy Clark and Verlon Thompson returned to the renovated Wildwood Springs Lodge in Steelville, Mo. for an acoustic performance.

Tedeschi Trucks Band, featuring the husband-and-wife team of Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, brought its big-band blues sound to the Touhill Performing Arts Center on Saturday night.

Within the last year, two St. Louis natives, Devon Allman and Mike Zito, have joined forces. Along with veteran drummer Yonrico Scott (Derek Trucks Band), Cyril Neville (Neville Brothers) and bassist Charlie Wooten, they formed the Royal Southern Brotherhood.

Anders Osborne performed last night at the Duck Room to a packed crowd, with St. Louis-based Five and Dimers opening.

Every band has a specialty. Some are guitar bands, some jam bands, some electronic. Chris Knight is all about lyrics.

Reckless Kelly always comes out with guns blaring, and their performance at the Duck Room at Blueberry Hill on Tuesday was no exception.
