Eight bands from St. Louis paid tribute to one of the grand masters of songwriting on Saturday night at Off Broadway. And they all did Leonard Cohen's poetry proud.

It's been seven years since Jon Hardy & the Public released a new full-length album. "Restless City" isn't just a long time in coming; it's the record the band was born to make.

Midwest Mayhem celebrates its ninth year on May 15 at the City Museum. As a KDHX DJ and music and art lover, it's a highlight of my year.

According to St. Louis musician Beth Bombara, the new video for the song "Long Dark Hallelujah" was designed to "create beautiful images that at times blur the lines of photography with videography."

Cassette Store Day may not be a thing but it is something.

The Replacements played their first show in 20 years. And you know what? It was pretty great.

"Piano Jazz" host, and fine musician in her own right, Marian McPartland, has died at the age of 95.

Bob Reuter, 1951-2013

Bob Reuter, host of "Bob's Scratchy Records," died on August 3, 2013 at the age of 61. His voice and vision were an essential, irreplaceable part of KDHX and the St. Louis community.

Songwriter and guitarist JJ Cale has died at the age of 74.
