Paul Simon “The Afterlife”

Fleet Foxes “Lorelei”
from Helplessness Blues (Sub Pop 2011) N  —#19 - Another beautiful album from the band leading the pastoral folk revival.


Wilco “Whole Love”

Okkervil River “Piratess”
from I Am Very Far (Jajaguwar 2011) N  —#17 - From Austin, Okkervil River released a fine album in 2011.


My Morning Jacket “FIRST LIGHT”
from Circuital (ATO 2011) N  —#16 - My Morning Jacket released another great album this year and their show at the Pageant was probably my show of the year. If you haven't seen them and have the chance in the future, don't miss their live show.


Sallie Ford & The Sound Outside “Write Me A Letter”
from Dirty Radio (Partisan 2011) N  —#15 - Formed in Portland, OR in 2008 (Sallie is from NC), and combining R&B, country, jazz and rock into a great mix. They put out their debut album in 2011.
