Peter Rowan et. al. “Midnight Moonlight”
from MerleFest Live!: The 15th Anniversary Jam (Welk 2003) —Fellow jammers on this one include Tony Rice, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Byron House and Larry Atamanuik.

Big Sandy and His Fly-Rite Boys “This Ain't a Good Time”
from What a Dream It's Been (Cow Island Music 2013) —I don't think Big Sandy has been at many MerleFests either.

Hot Rize “I Never Met a One Like You”
from When I'm Free (Ten In Hand Records www.mountainfeverrecords.com 2014) —A rare MerleFest appearance this weekend by Hot Rize.

Robert Earl Keen “99 Years for One Dark Day”
from Happy Prisoner: The Bluegrass Sessions (Dualtone Music Group 2015) —The great Peter Rowan helps out with the vocals here. He's been a MerleFest performer for many years.

Jim Lauderdale with Lee Ann Womack “Doin' Time In Bakersfield”
from I'm a Song (Sky Crunch Records 2014) —Jim will also once again be overseeing the Chris Austin Memorial Songwriting Contest too.

Lee Ann Womack “Chances Are”
from The Way I'm Livin' (Sugar Hill Records ww.sugarhillrecords.com 2014) —One written by Hayes Carll. This was high on my list of 2014 releases.

The Earls of Leicester “Dim Lights, Thick Smoke”
from The Earls of Leicester (Rounder www.rounder.com 2014) —The Joe Maphis classic. Wish I could see these fellas at MerleFest this weekend.

Dwight Yoakum “Liar”
from Second Hand Heart (Warner 2015) N  —Great new music with an early Dwight flavor.

Darrell Scott “Country Music, I'm Talking to You”
from Songs of Ben Bullington (Full Light Records 2015) —Ben Bullington was a small-town doc in Montana who loved music and wrote songs. He died in 2013 at age 58 and Darrell Scott's new album, out in stores on May 19th, pays tribute. Pretty pointed lyrics here, of which i approve.

Asleep at the Wheel with Tim McGraw “Milk Cow Blues”
from Ride with Bob: A Tribute to Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys (SKG 1999) —The old Kokomo Arnold song, done up nicely here by Tim McGraw. He's a good man and I need to play more of his music.

The Texas Troubadors “Buddy's Boogie (intro)”
from Almost To Tulsa (Bear Family 2008)
