Jimmy Rogers “The World's In A Tangle”
from Big Town Playboys - Chicago Blues 1949 -1951 Disc 1 (Acrobat www.acrobatmusic.net)
Stick Horse Hammond “Alberta”
from Southern Blues Volume Two (Audi Book & Music co.) —Not much is known about Nathaniel "Stick Horse" Hammond except he was born in Dallas in 1896, and died in Shreveport in 1964. He had several records released on a label called JOB in Shreveport, which was an entirely different label than J.O.B. in Chicago
Lightnin’ Hopkins “Blues (That mean old twister)”
from Lightnin' Hopkins - The Complete Aladdin Recordings (EMI Records)
Cee Cee James “I got a right to sing the blues”
from Blood Red Blues (FWG Records 2012) N —I only had time to play a couple of minutes of this pick from Cee Cee's new release. She makes her home in St. Louis, and is backed up live and on her CD by husband Rob "Slideboy" Andrews. Ron will be back in the studio next week.
