John Mooney “If You Love Me”
from All I Want Single (Blind Pig Records 2002) —John covering a Ted Hawkins tune right here, nothin' much besides dobro & percussion and sounding oh-so-nice!
Stevie Ray Vaughan “Life By The Drop”
from The Sky Is Crying (Epic 1991) R —SRV playing 12 string acoustic, on a tune co-written by Doyle Bramhall, a tune written with SRV in mind...addictions.
Robert Pete Williams “On My Way From Texas”
from The Great Blues Men (Vanguard 1988) —a live recording from 1964, featuring the one of a kind bluesman Robert Pete Williams. At times Robert Pete reminds me of Louisiana Red, with much off the cuff lyrics and an idiosyncratic playing style.
Nathan James “Ain't This A Comeback”
from This Road Is Mine (Pacific Blues 2004) —a tune written by Icepick James Harman, who is also having a little fun singing along right here. Nathan has been Harman's go-to guitar player for most of a decade, now.
Los FabuLocos “She Wakes Up Cryin'”
from Dos (feat. Kid Ramos) (Delta Groove Music Inc. 2010) —Kid Ramos is the guitar player for the band, and the word is he's been given the "all clear" after a intensive year long battle with debilitating cancer treatments. Watch for him to resume his work with The Mannish Boys, also.
Otis Rush “She's A Good 'Un”
from Ain't Enough Comin' In (Mercury 1994) —Otis Rush, a fine guitarist and a gifted singer - you can recognize Otis' voice immediately, and that's a good thing.
Like everything else, times are approximate.
