The Lovin' Spoonful “Darlin' Be Home Soon”
from Anthology (Rhino 1990) —That last song made me want to hear more John Sebastian, this may be my favorite of many from this underrated songwriter and band.
Harry Lipson “Gimme a Game of Baseball”
from Fridays & Saturdays (Pandemonium Records 1982) —Have no idea what happened to Harry, but he captures the game of baseball perfectly on this Larry Weir vinyl discovery & Songwriter Showcase exclusive.
Sam Baker “Baseball”
from Mercy (Sam Baker 2004) —The 1st disc in Sam Baker's truley amazing trilogy, if you haven't already read Sam's remarkable story on his website.
Fred Eaglesmith “Summerlea”
from Things Is Changin' (A Major Label 1993) —You can almost smell the whiskey and perfume on this realistic cowboy love song by Fred, Fred returns to Off Broadway with the "Fabulous Ginn Sisters" October 30.
Willie Nile “House of a Thousand Guitars” (River House www.willienile.com 2009) —Title song to Willie's 2009 release, Willie seems to be a well kept secret, let's try and change that, he makes great records.
Warren Zevon “Gorrilla, You're a Desperado”
from I'll Sleep When I'm Dead (Rhino 1996) —Always try and go back as often as I can and play something by the late and very much missed singer songwriter.
Like everything else, times are approximate.
