Dave Carter & Tracy Grammer “Way over Yonder in the minor key”
from Little Blue Egg (Red House www.redhouserecords.com 2012) —On July 19 of this year it will be 10 years (that seems impossible) since Dave Carters sudden death at age 50 and this is the last of the recorded material that was left behind, we lost an amazing talent not yet at his peak. A great cover of a Woody Guth
Nathan Bell “Red, White and Johnny Unitas Blue”
from Traitorland (Zensuit Records/Cult of 8 Productions 2008) —You might remember Nathan from his days with Susan Shore in the folk duo Bell and Shore who put out a couple of great cd's (L-Ranko Motel & Little Movies) almost 20 years ago, well worth seaking out. Played this song for Super Bowl Sunday, great to see N
Perry Keyes “The Day John Sattler Broke His Jaw”
from The Last Ghost Train Home (Laughing Outlaw Records 2007) —There are scores of great baseball songs and so few about football, always amazed me, so I'm ending this set with an Australian rules football (rugby) song by this former Sydney cabdriver turned singer songwriter extraordinare.
Mustard's Retreat “Jeremy Brown”
from Back to Back (Red House www.redhouserecords.com 1995) —Michael Hough and David Tamulevich make their St. Louis debut on Sunday February 19 at Eliot Chapel Soulstice Cafe in Kirkwood for a 7:30 show, another show you won't want to miss, check out this great concert series.
Emmylou Harris and John Prine “Magnolia Wind”
from This One's for Him: A Tribute to Guy Clark (Music Road Records 2011) —How can you go wrong with Emmylou and John Prine doing a song written by Guy. Guy and Verlon Thompson at the Old Rock House on Leap Day and at Wild Wood Springs lodge September 15.
