Lucinda Williams “Seeing Black”
from Blessed Single (Lost Highway www.losthighwayrecords.com 2011) N  —Personally I'd kind of lost interest in Lucinda's recent work, she returns to form on her new release, including this Vic Chestnut tribute.

Steve Earle “Waitin' On The Sky”
from I'll Never Get Out of This World Alive (New West 2011) N  —First set of original songs from Steve in four years, it was worth the wait, joined by his wife Alison Moorer on a couple tracks.

Blame Sally “Bird In Hand”
from Speeding Ticket and A Valentine (Ninth Street Opus 2011) N  —My first exposure to this all girl San Francisco Band, Pam Delgado, Renee Harcourt, Jeri Jones, and Monica Pasqual, who wrote and sang the track we played.

Willie Nile “Far Green Hills”
from The Innocent Ones (River House Records 2010) —As usual, all keepers from Willie, why he's not better known is a mystery to me.

Josh Ritter “Mexican Home”
from Broken Hearts & Dirty Windows: Songs of John Prine (Oh Boy Records www.ohboy.com 2010) —Since we had a request for John, thought a cut from this fine tribute cd would be a good fit, besides I really like Josh Ritter.

Mary McBride “Big Old Oak Table”

Eva Trout “Beautiful South”
from Eva Trout (Kirtland Records 1997) —Ozzie band that is no longer, although Grant Shanahan and Bek - Jean Stewart are still making great music.

The Great Big Sea “Knockin' Lost John”
