from Jeff Bridges (EMI 2011) N  —Welcome !! No novelty act, the "Dude" sings, plays, & writes on this T Bone Burnett produced CD. This song is by the late Stephen Bruton & Gary Nicholson.


Stephen Bruton “Single Star”
from Right On Time (Dos Records 1995) —The wonderful producer, songwriter, singer, muti-instrumentalist died May of 2009 at the age of 60. Never really did get the recognition he deserved.


Gary Nicholson “Lone Star Blues”
from Texas Songbook (Bismeaux 2011) N  —Much covered songwriter, showcases some of his best known songs, doesn't hurt to have Joe Ely and Asleep At The Wheel's, Ray Benson helping out on this track.


Mickey and The Motorcars “Raise My Glass” (Smith Music Group 2011) N  —Very talented Braun family, younger brothers, Mickey & Gary with Kris Farrow, Mark McCoy, & Shane Vannerson, a fine new release. Kevin Welch's son, Dustin & daughter, Savannah helped write this one. Marty Muse (REK) & Bukka Allen on steel & keyboards.


Reckless Kelly “Wicked Twisted Road” (Sugar Hill Records www.sugarhillrecords.com 2006) —The older 2 Braun Brothers, Willy & Cody's band, all 4 brothers started playing with their musical Father and his western swing band in Oregon, Muzzie Braun & the Boys. New cd "Good Luck & True Love" due September 13.

from Three (Wabuho 2011) N  —My favorite (What's currently in your car cd player) release. All originals and great harmonies from the very talented trio of Wendy Waldeman, Cindy Bullens, & Deborah Holland. This ones a Cindy Bullen's tune, love the Ted Williams reference.


Joe Ely “Leo and Leona”
from Satisfied at Last (Rack 'Em 2011) N  —Joe covering his personal songwriter, and Lubbock boyhood friend, Butch Hancock on his great new cd.


Butch Hancock “Own & Own” (Sugar Hill Records www.sugarhillrecords.com 1989) —Butch and Jo Ann Parks sing this one, Butch will be in town Friday, September 9, playing a SOLD OUT Ranch House Concert. Knuckleheads in K.C. on Sept. 8 and with the Flatlanders Sept. 10, Columbia, Roots and Blues BBQ Fest.


Todd Snider “Play A Train Song”
from Todd Snider Live: The Storyteller (Aimless Records 2011) N  —A storyteller indeed !!! A request for Todd, just wish more of Todd's songs were FTC friendly, you really do have to experience him live, to get the full benefit.

from Get Along Home (Green Strum 2011) N L —Very talented local singer/songwriter playing homemade instruments on his great new release. Ryan and his band will be at the Sheldon Concert Hall Ballroom this Friday, August 26 7:30 PM, Lulus open.


The Greencards with Sam Bush “Make It Out West”
from The Brick Album (Darling Street 2011) N  —Eamon McLoughlin left the band, new members Tyler Andal on Fiddle & Carl Miner on guitar join, founding members, Aussie's Carol Young & Kym Warner on their new fan financed cd. Old Rock House Friday 10/7. Bill Whitbeck (REK) co-write with Kym.


Adam Carroll “Red Bandanna Blues”
from South of Town (Down Hole Records 2006) R  —A request, never get tired of this one by my favorite of all the young Texas songwriters, still waiting for that St. Louis debut. Produced by Lloyd Maines.


Tom Russell Band “Black Pearl”
from All Around These Northern Towns (Norske Gram 2000) —Tom with Thad Beckman returns to Off Broadway, October 7, Mt. Olive Turner Hall Saturday, Oct. 8 with Gretchen Peters info digger@madisontelco.com. It's been 23 years since Tom and his band made their Off Broadway debut, Whew !!! pretty scarey stuff.

Peter Cooper “Sheboygan”
from Mission Door (Red Beet Records 2008) —Peter Cooper & Eric Brace will be at the Focal Point, Friday, October 21 for an 8 PM Show, saw them this Spring at a Bedford house concert very good, very funny, Highly recommended, and if you need another reason to show up, Ben & Kari Bedford Opening.


Gina Holsopple “Broken Heart”
