Time zone: central

Disappears “Love Drug”
from Pre Language (Kranky 2012) N  —Heavy groove, good start to the show.

Amanda Palmer & The Grand Theft Orchestra “Trout Heart Replica”
from Theatre Is Evil (8ft. records 2012) N  —Free stuff! http://www.amandapalmer.net/

The Frogs “Rearviewmirror”
from CD5 for 'Immortality' (Epic 1995) —I've always enjoyed that fact Pearl Jam put a cover of one their songs as a b-side. The lead singer of The Frogs passed away recently.

Seaweed “Go Your Own Way”
from Clerks (Music from the Motion Picture) (Columbia 1994) —I watched a bit of this the other day and busted out the soundtrack.

Red Letter Days “Exodus”
from Red Letter Days (self 2012) N L —New and local and good.

Frazey Ford “Lovers In A Dangerous Time”
from Obadiah (Nettwerk 2010) —Bruce Cockburn cover.

The Dresden Dolls “Androgynous”
from Daytrotter Session (Daytrotter) —Danceable cover of the Replacements tune.

The Bomb Squad “Find Another Love”
from Sophistafunk (The Bomb Squad 2001)

JC Brooks & The Uptown Sound “Love Someone That Don't Love You”
from Daytrotter Session (Daytrotter) —Great session. Daytrotter.com is a great site to get lost in.

Beck “Debra”
from Midnite Vultures (DGC 1999) —The greatest slow jam ever conceived. I could play this every week and be happy. You'd be bored, but I'd be happy.

Shout Out Out Out Out “This Isn't Helping”
from Spanish Moss And Total Loss (Normals Welcome Records 2012) N  —Vocoders rule.

Wild Nothing “Paradise”
from Nocturne (Captured Tracks 2012) N  —A really good set at Loufest this past weekend.

Morphine “Thursday”
from Cure for Pain (Ryko 1993)

XTC “Your Dictionary”
from Apple Venus Volume 1 (Ape House Ltd. 1998) —I need to buy more XTC stuff. The lyrics to this are bitter.

The Flaming Lips “Buggin' (live at KCRW 8-2-99)”
from Loss Leaders 2 (Warner Bros. 1999) —Live version of the Soft Bulletin track. From a record label promotional comp, those things were troves of rare stuff. The Lips did a great set at Loufest too. The crowd was quite rained on which dulled the energy a bit but still, very worthy.

Wilco “Ashes of American Flags”
from Yankee Hotel Foxtrot CD Album (Nonesuch 2002)

Sam Mellon And The Skylarks “It Sounds So Naive (Instrumental)”
from It Sounds So Naive [Single] - Single (Rankoutsider Records 2011) —This is a cool song and thought I'd play the instrumental track for something different and good.

The Union Electric “Center Of The Storm”
from Time Is Gold (Rankoutsider Records 2012) N L —One of the bands on the bill at Off Broadway this Saturday.

Sugar “Believe What You're Saying (Campfire Mix)”
from File Under: Easy Listening (Deluxe Remaster) (Merge Records 2012) N

Sugar “JC Auto (Live at the Cabaret Metro, Illinois, 22nd July 1992)”
from Copper Blue (Deluxe Edition) (Merge www.mergerecords.com 1992) —I have to play something from each disc or the other one gets jealous. Nobody wants that.

Mates of State “Drop and Anchor”
from All Day (Polyvinyl www.polyvinylrecords.com 2004) —A lovely little tune.

The Magnetic Fields “Yeah! Oh, Yeah!”
from 69 Love Songs (Merge www.mergerecords.com 1999)
