Doc Watson And Clarence Ashley “Willie Moore”
from The Original Folkways Recordings (Smithsonian Folkways 1994) —1960/62. A belated tribute to the late great Doc Watson to start off the show. Early in his career they went down to Deep Gap, NC to record the infamous Clarence Ashley and were introduced to the amazing Doc Watson in the process.


Doc and Merle Watson “Red Rocking Chair” (Flying Fish 1981) —Later in his career after playing shows with his son Merle for 15-20 years.


Doc and Richard Watson “Moody River”
from Third Generation Blues (SUGAR HILL www.sugarhillrecords.com 1999) —And from later in his career (although he kept playing for another 12 years after this recording), playing w/ his grandson Richard. His guitar playing stayed strong and I love his mature voice.
