from Bill Morrissey: The Essential Collection (Rounder Records www.rounderrecords.com 2004) —We lost a brilliant songwriter Saturday 7/24, Bill, 59, battled demons, addictions and depression, for many years, but you would never know it when he was on stage spinning his magical tales that could make you laugh and cry.


America “Don't Cross The River”
from America's Greatest Hits - History (Warner Bros. 1972) —Dan Peek, 60 founding member of America also died Saturday 7/24, like Bill, Dan battled many demons and left America in 1977, this song Dan wrote was covered by Garth Brooks on his "Scarecrow" cd.

Bill Morrissey “Letter From Heaven”
from Bill Morrissey: The Essential Collection (Rounder Records www.rounderrecords.com 2004) —Bill died on the road where he spent most of his life, besides his musical ability, his wit, storytelling and adlibs between songs were worth the price of admission, Bill also published one novel "Edson".


Tom Rush “Fall Into the Night”
from What I Know (Appleseed I discovered this song when Pete Seeger passed last year. What a gift. 2009) —Tom doing an Eliza Gilkyson song, Thursday, October 27, Tom will be at the Old Rockhouse. Tom turned 70 on February 8 of this year.

Sarah Jarosz “Come On Up To the House”

from The Sewanee Sessions (15 Bottles 2009) —These three wonderful performers and good friends tour together several dates a year called "Wine, Women, and Song" Gretchen will join Tom Russell 10/8 at the Mt. Olive Turner Hall.

Gillian Welch “Six White Horses”

Blackie and The Rodeo Kings “Black Sheep”
from Kings and Queens (FU:M 2011) N  —Stephen Fearing w/ Juno award winner Serena Ryder trade leads on this song Stephen wrote for this years best new release. 13 other Queens join Colin Linden, Tom Wilson, and Stephen.
