Time zone: central
from Bloodrock 2 (One Way 1970) —Texas hard psych/rock from 1970. The bringers of the famous cut D.O.A. which yeah, used to creep me out when I was a little kid!
Donovan “Barabajagal” (Epic 1969) —Actually features the Jeff Beck group from back in 69'
KL11 “True Fine Love”
from KL11 (artist release 2012) L —A local band that I just discovered. Find them on Facebook for live gig information. They are still out there rockin' and have been around for a while! I really like their sound too!
from Manticore (Atlantic) —A rare version of the Crazy World of Author Brown's Fire, in which Carl Palmer was once the drummer of.
Road “I'm Trying”
from Road (Akarma 1972) —with Noel Redding, a post Hendrix project from 72'. Very underrated disc.
Aphroditite's Child “Break”
from 666 (Polygram) —a double album by psychedelic/progressive art rock group Aphrodite's Child. It is one of the early cult albums in rock history, and is still popular among fans today. It was released in 1972, and was the primary vehicle/effort for the Vangelis project.
from Lonesome Crow (Brain 1972) —Yes, it's the same Scorpions from the 80's, but back when they were NOT a top 40 fluff metal band. This is really great hard psych from 1972
May Blitz “Virgin Waters”
from My Blitz (BGO) R —May Blitz is a British heavy rock power trio that was active in the early 1970s.
Brave Belt “Scarecrow”
from Brave Belt (Reprise Records 1972) —Ok, this cut was probably just played in Canada, Brave Belt really never reached their potential. It's still a real good song though. Chad Allen is on vocals
Sky “Let It Lie Low”
from Don't Hold Back (RCA 1971) R —With Doug Feiger who many years later would form "the Knack". I'm not sure why this never came out on CD?
CSN&Y “the Lee Shore”
from Box Set (Atlantic) R —this is the unreleased version. A wonderful cut from the band.
Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac “Oh, Well”
from Then Play On (Reprise) R —This is the real version of the song, done by the original band! No Buckingham or Nicks here! Not even Christine Mcvie. They were a 3 guitar blues band at this point. This was the final LP that Peter Green would be a big part of.
