It's his "Goodbye Tour" after being diagonosed with Alzheimer's Disease, our thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family.


Bodeans “Sad Eyes”
from Indigo Dreams (Oar Fin 2011) N  —From the final album of the BoDeans with Sammy Llanas who's going solo after this album (new cd "4 A.M. due soon), after a 30 year partnership with Waukesha, Wisconsin High School buddy Kurt Neumann, while Kurt Neumann will continue the BoDeans name.


Michael Fracasso “Ada, OK (feat. Patty Griffin)”
from Saint Monday (Michael Fracasso 2011) N  —From Michael's great new cd of all originals, and how can you go wrong dueting with Patty Griffith. A strong top 10 canidate on Songwriters Showcase best of 2011.


Chuck Brodsky “The Phenom”
from Subtotal Eclipse (Chuck Brodsky Records 2011) N  —Nobody writes baseball songs like Chuck, this one is based on Washington National Phenom, Stephen Strasburg, produced by Nova Scotia's multi-instrumentalist wiz, J.P. Cormier.


Steve Key “Shoeless Joe Jackson”
from Record Time: Recorded Live in Concert (Local Folkel 1992) —Another true baseball story, about the tragic "Shoeless Joe" from a songwriter showcase favorite, who seems to be missing in action lately, where are you Steve Key ?? Last cd was "House Blend" in 2003.


David Olney and John Hadley “The Gas House Gang”
from 'Ol Diz: A Musical Baseball Story (Deadbeet 2005) —Ben Jones (Cooter on "Dukes of Hazard") wrote a play about the life of Dizzy Dean, he asked David Olney & John Hadley to do the music, a wise choice. David released the songs in a limited edition cd, check his website. Hoping to see the musical live.


Peter Cooper “715 (For Hank Aaron)”
from Mission Door (Red Beet Records 2008) —Peter with a wonderful ode to his boyhood hero and everything he went through while chasing the Babe. Peter Cooper will be with Eric Brace (Last Train Home) at the Focal Point in Maplewood on Friday, October 21. Springfield, IL's Ben & Kari Bedford open.


Robert Earl Keen “The Road Goes On and On”
from Ready For Confetti (Lost Highway 2011) N  —Robert with a fine new cd and his wonderful, longtime band, touring all over the midwest this month to support it, but NO St.Louis, Chicago 9/8, K.C. 9/13, Columbia, Mo. 9/14 also dates in Indiana, Arkansas, TN. Where are you St.Louis ???


Fred Eaglesmith “York Road”
from The Official Bootleg Series Volume One (Lonesome Day www.lonesomeday.com 2002) —Fred will return to Off Broadway Sunday, October 30 with the "Fabulous Ginn Sisters" who will open and have become regular members of Fred's band, you need to experience Fred live.

from Own & Own (Sugar Hill Records www.sugarhillrecords.com 1989) —Butch will be in town at a sold out Ranch House concert on Friday, Sept 9, he'll be at Knuckleheads in Kansas City the night before 9/8 and at the Bar-B-Que fest in Columbia, Missouri on Saturday 9/10 joined by the rest of the legendary Flatlanders.


Owen Temple “Mountain Home” (El Paisano 2011) N  —Texas songwriter with a great new released produced by Gabe Rhodes, Adam Carroll plays and co-writes as does Gordy Quist (Band Of Heathens) Charlie Sexton, Bukka Allen and many others also join in.


Eilen Jewell “Santa Fe”
from Queen of the Minor Key (Signature Sounds Recording Company www.signaturesounds.com 2011) N  —Eilen Jewell with her band the Dirt Daubers will be playing a late show at Off Broadway on Wed, Sept 14, haven't seen her live yet, but I've heard nothing but rave reviews, hope to catch the show on Wednesday.


Tom Russell “A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall (w/Lucinda Williams)”
