Kárpátia “Keserves és kezesek”
from Kárpátia (Etnofon 1998) —It is no mistake this sounds like Klezmer music - many Jews ived in the area and a lot of common characteristics can be heard in the music.
Ion Drăgoi “Doină Moldovenească”
from Ion Drăgoi (Deesse) —a beautiful example of the "slow tune, fast accompaniment" style seen throughout the northern Balkans
Téka “Vajdaszentiványi Sebesforduló”
from Erdélyország Sok Szép Vize (Duo Sound 1993) —This Transylvanian village borders on the Szekely lands against the western slopes of the Carpathian mountians in Romania. The population is largely Hungarian-speaking.
Like everything else, times are approximate.
