O.V. Wright “I'm Going Home (To Live With God)” from Memphis Unlimited (Backbeat 1973) —Traditional gospel song with backing by the Hi Rhythm section & production by Willie Mitchell. Oh, and with a fantastic soul vocal by O.V. Wright and backing vocals by Rhodes, Chalmers & Rhodes.Buy it!
Trombone Shorty “Then There Was You” from For True (Verve 2011) N —This track features the searing vocals of Ledisi on a song she co-wrote with Troy Andrews (aka Trombone Shorty) among others. Another really strong release by the New Orleans artist.Buy it!
