Dragi Spasovski with the Stefče Stojkovski ens. “Ori Jano, Sokol Jano”
from Echo of my Soul (Izvor Music www.izvormusic.com 2007) —a very old slow, un-metered song, accompanied here only by 2 kavals, one with a commenting melody, the other a drone, both played (multitracked) by Stefče Stojkovski. This song had the audience rivitted to their seats at the Balkan Music and Dance Camps
Stefče Stojkovski ensemble of National Instruments & Songs “Staro Tikveshko oro”
from Macedonian songs and dances from Tikvesh region ((self) www.wearesharkdad.bandcamp.com 2011) —This dance in 7/8 time progresses from slow to a more rapid pace, and comes from an area known for its wine.
Stefče Stojkovski ensemble of National Instruments & Songs “Ramno Vatashko oro”
from Macedonian songs and dances from Tikvesh region ((self) www.wearesharkdad.bandcamp.com 2011) —This artist's work is also profiled at www.izvormusic.com
Leb i Vino (Elena Georgieva-Kamenarova & Jane Kamenarov) “Leno, Leno”
from Neboto se Tsapi, Zemniata se Trese (Sunny) —This fascinating ultra-traditional group is based in Melnik, Pirin, Bulgaria, and has several YouTube videos worth seeing. Their web site is at www.lebivino.com
(Anon. Folk Artists) “Žensko Krsteno (FK2)”
from Anthology of Folklore Music vol. 2 Bulgaria and Macedonia (Syncoop - Folkraft 1998) —this is a reissue of the original Folkraft LP of the 1960s
Kostadinka Palazova & ork. Dragi Mitev “Tapan Čuka Mila Mamo/ Da Li Pamtiš Milo Libe”
from (45 rpm disc) (RTB) —large numbers of 45 rpm discs were turned out in former Yugoslavia, forming an amazing record of regional singing styles. Even the minority group musicians were recorded, unusual in so-called "east-block" countries of the time.
duo "Svatovi" (Hristovski-Čerepovski) & Kočo Petrovski ens. “More Što E Lična /Poseala Baba”
from (45 rpm disc) (Jugoton) —the first of these 2 songs has the same melody as the "More Reče Čiča da mi Ženi" that opened the show. This time the words are humorous, as is the second song. I await the translation from a friend.
duetot Jordanka Kuculova i Gjorgji Andreevski & Koča Petrovski ens. “Bog Da Bie Tvojta Majka”
from Kuculova Andreevski (RTB (LP))
Duet Violeta Tomovska-Kiril Mančevski i ans. Koče Petrovskog “Nevenko Neven V Gradina”
from (45 rpm disc) (RTB)
