Clairy Browne & The Bangin' Rackettes “Love Letter”
from Baby Caught The Bus (Vanguard www.vanguardrecords.com 2013) —This Melbourne soul band first released this in Australia in 2012 and then Vanguard released it in the U.S. in 2013. Clairy Browne has a really powerful voice that works really well on the 60s pop, soul and R&B influences on this album.


The Bamboos & Tim Rogers “I Got Burned”
from Medicine Man (Tru Thoughts 2012) —This Australian soul and funk band has guest vocals by Tim Rogers of You Am I on this track. Great single. Two tracks out of Melbourne, Australia.


The Sweet Inspirations “But You Know I Love You”
from Sweet Dreams: Where Country Meets Soul - Vol. 2 (Kent 2013) N  —1969 Atlantic cover version of a song originally recorded by Kenny Rogers and the First Edition in 1968.


Arthur Alexander “Every Day I Have To Cry”
from Lonely Just Like Me (Elektra 1993) —Written by Arthur Alexander and produced by Ben Vaughn. This album marked a terrific return to form after a long layoff from recording. Sadly, he passed away from a heart attack several months after this release.

Steelism “9 to 5 Jive”
from The Intoxicating Sounds of Pedal Steel & Guitar - EP (Theory 8 Records 2012) —Instrumental from their 2012 debut EP release. This band is made up of Jeremy Fetzer from Ohio who plays the Telecaster and Spencer Cullum, Jr. from Essex, England who plays pedal steel.
