Wilson Pickett “Hey Jude”
from Funky Midnight Mover: The Atlantic Studio Recordings (1962-1978) (Rhino 2009) —Duane Allman plays lead guitar on this 1969 Atlantic single and was the person responsible for convincing Wilson Pickett to record the Beatles classic. The results speak for themselves. Recorded at Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals.

from Sweet Dreams: Where Country Meets Soul - Vol. 2 (Kent 2013) N  —Written by Kris Kristofferson and recorded for the Silver Fox label in 1970. The original version was recorded by Ray Stevens (!) in 1969. A year later, Johnny Cash recorded it and it went to #1 on the Country charts.
