Alvin Jett & the Phat noiZ Blues Band “Wanna Go Home” from na (NA url) L —the album had been recorded but had to be shelved..it's finished, and if it sounds this good...well... Let Frank and Matt know what you think of this tune when you run into them.Buy it!
Tony Z “15 Years” from Kiss My Blues (Tone-Cool Records tonecool.com 1997) —This cat knows how to let the B-3 be free, and he's a talented vocalist as well. Cornell Dupree is on here playing guitar, along with Chuck Rainey (bass) and Bernard Purdie on drums.Buy it!
Perry & the Pumpers “Roberta” from Movin' At Midnight (Sweetgrass Music 2012) —this is really a nice album, even if the small label release makes it tough to find. it's worth it, though. BTW, Perry is Perry Welsh.Buy it!
Julian Fauth “So Friggin' Happy” from Everybody Ought to Treat a Stranger Right (Electro-Fi Records 2012) —Henry Townsend heard Julian playing one time and said "that young has something". That is good enough for me. Julian is a Canadian artist, and is one of my favorite artist working today.Buy it!
Jody Williams “Moanin' for Molasses” from Return of a Legend (evidence music 2001) —Return of a Legend was Jody's return to recording. He hung it up in the early 1960s, frustrated by perceived (and maybe very real) music industry shenanigans.Buy it!
