Billy Clark & The Maskman “Soul Party Pt. 1” from Dynamic Grooves (BGP url 2011N  —Washington DC soul from 1968 released by the Dynamo label & found on this new compilation of songs released by various New York independent labels. Bruce Springsteen “Point Blank” from The River (Columbia 1980) —This song was so powerful when I saw him perform the song live in 1980 that I wish he would start including it in his live sets again.Buy it!


Aimee Mann & Michael Penn “Reason to Believe” from Badlands: A Tribute to Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska (Sub-Pop 2000) —I think this tribute to Bruce Springsteen is one of the strongest tribute albums out there. Usually, they are really spotty affairs. It helps when you have artists such as Johnny Cash, Raul Malo, Chrissie Hynde & Son Volt taking part.Buy it!


Billy Bragg “Mansion On the Hill” from Uncut: Born to Run 2003 - Vol. 2 (Uncut 2003) —Previously unreleased 2000 recording of the Bruce Springsteen song.Buy it!


Bob Reuter and Kamikaze Cowboy “After the Party” from Down in America (Magoo Records 2000L —There will be a Bob Reuter book release for his latest collection of photos called 'Light Fuse and Run' at Off Broadway this Sunday from 3-7PM.
