Nona Marie Invie, Dark Dark Dark's lead singer, accordionist and piano player, nodded at the audience and opened the show with "Say the Word" off 2010's "Wild Go." The song echoed around the venue and built toward an epic chorus.

Sunday evening Dark Dark Dark played Off Broadway with co-headliners A Hawk and a Hacksaw and the support of openers, Pillars and Tongues. 

Don't be deceived by their name: Dark Dark Dark isn't a goth band and they're not brooding steam punks either. Their shadowy, vaudvillian style finds grace in a cello sigh and spark in a banjo pluck.
