October 22, 2011 marks the season finale of year five of the KDHX Harvest Sessions concert series.

Matt Rowland brought rock, blues and funk to the audience at this weeks Harvest Sessions. With plenty of original material and covers that ranged from Ray Charles to Jethro Tull and the Parsons Project, Matt had something for everyone.

Babs & Dot with their South City Serenaders were the featured artists for the July 30, 2011 Harvest Sessions. These veteran Saint Louis musicians endured Saint Louis summertime heat, humidity, wayward thunderstorms and an errant lightning bolt to share their old time music with visitors to the Tower Grove Farmers Market.

Traveling all the way from Grand Rapids, Michigan, the Benjamin Riley Duo performed at the July 23, 2011 Harvest Sessions.

Saint Louis blues/rock singer/guitarist Melissa Neels let the boys in the band sleep in Saturday and performed solo for two acoustic sets for this weeks edition of Harvest Sessions. 

Veteran St. Louis musicians Greg Silsby and Kevin Liley, members of the bluegrass group Cumberland Gap, performed at the KDHX-sponsored Harvest Sessions.

With a hard won honesty to his song lyrics and almost too much energy to be contained in a small space, Caleb Travers kept the holiday weekend market shoppers entertained on a sweltering Saturday morning.

The June 25th, 2011 edition of the KDHX Harvest Sessions featured Brian Henneman (The Bottle Rockets/Diesel Island) and Kip Loui (Diesel Island). Brian and Kip brought a stripped down version of Diesel Island to the West Pool Pavllion. Outlaw country covers at their best on a summer Saturday morning.

There's nothing like the Tower Grove Farmers' Market and there's nothing like Harvest Sessions. KDHX's free concert series at the West Pool Pavilion in Tower Grove Park kicks off Saturday, May 7 and runs through October 22, 2011.

On this wet and chilly Thanksgiving day, I’m thinking — admittedly with a hint of nostalgia and certainly with some denial over the winter to come — about the Tower Grove Farmers’ Market and Harvest Sessions.
