It's 1 a.m. and Mardi Gras World is still kicking. Spring breakers and locals alike are packed tight to see some of today's top acts in EDM, hip-hop and indie rock. With shows starting at dusk and ending at three in the morning, the two-day festival known as Buku only got more crowded and more rowdy as the night progressed.
Here you have it: a list of the top ten songs of 2012 that damaged my car speakers, headphones, and hearing, and rattled all the priceless artwork off my walls. I suppose that's only half true, but these songs are good none the less.
I've had a great year as Music Department intern at 88.1 KDHX, and I had a great time putting together this list of top 10 albums.
I've always been the kind of person that doesn't like to limit myself to one genre of music, and this year was perfect for that.
Each month, this site features numerous photography pieces based on the work of the intrepid members of KDHX's pool of volunteer photographers.
It always impresses me just how loud and complete some two-piece bands can sound. The Black Keys, the White Stripes and the Kills are the first that come to mind, but after Tuesday night at the Firebird I might have to put a new pair at the top of that list: Japandroids.
Japandroids guitarist and singer Brian King acknowledged to the audience that the band hasn't stopped through St. Louis frequently enough, and promised an extra-long and energetic set for the sold-out room at the Firebird.
