Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki needs no introduction to animé fans. His latest film "The Wind Rises" will not disappoint with its exquisite animation in the story of Jiro Horikoshi, aeronautical engineer and designer of WWII Japanese navy fighter planes. The title comes from a French poem quoted several times, translated as "The wind is rising; you must try to live."

'Premium Rush' Fails to Deliver

Premium Rush takes the wild, intense world of New York bicycle messengers and makes it—dull. Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars as Wilee, a fearless, fast rider. At Columbia University, he picks up a small envelope that must arrive in lower Manhattan in fewer than four hours—as the title telegraphs, what’s called a premium rush.

In its first act Hesher promises serious, thoughtful drama and the actors deliver admirable performances. However, co-writer/director Spencer Susser flounders in the development department as scenes become repetitive and Hesher's anger and vitriolic attacks terribly tiresome. One of the important details writers learn concerns character arc, that is, he has to develop, grow, learn, or change somehow.
