Friday night of An Under Cover Weekend 5 at the Firebird was soulful, funky and most exceptionally hard-rocking.

The idea behind An Under Cover Weekend is simple: Local bands transform themselves into their favorite artists to pay tribute to them for 30 minutes. The result of months of hard work culminates in two nights of rock celebration at the Firebird that captures the essence of rock 'n' roll.

It was a great night at the Old Rock House Monday. Paper Dolls kicked off the show, followed by Dots Not Feathers who never disappoint. Then to close the evening was Archeology of Portland, Oregon.

The Jump Starts 10/19/10

Justin Johnson, one of the lead singers with Pretty Little Empire, and Sarah Ross, known for her work with Paper Dolls, have combined for the Jump Starts, an acoustic folk rock duo that spotlights harmonies and jittery, bouncy rhythms.
