In advance of "Currents," its third album (due out July 17 2015), Tame Impala has shared a new track, "Let It Happen," a sprawling excursion into and extension of the psych-influenced rock they've embraced since starting out in Perth, Australia in 2007.
"Does anyone know what day of the week it is?" singer Kevin Parker asked the crowd. "That's actually an honest question," he clarified, pointing to his bandmate, laughing. It was a clear indication that his band, Tame Impala, has been moving so fast that time is simply not on their radar.
Tame Impala's song "It Feels Like We Only Go Backwards" expresses enough hope and musical beauty that it can assuage the gnarliest of inopportune emotions.
