A sparse audience of sleepy-looking loners and softly chatting couples sat at the high tables on the edges of the main room at the Old Rock House. The local guys of Tone Rodent climbed onstage, each of them either tuning strings or tweaking knobs or putting on a good don't-give-a-shit face.
KDHX invited an eclectic group of St. Louis musicians to weigh in on their favorite concerts of the year. A formidable task, to be sure.
If Lou Reed had grown up in the Midwest and dug shoegaze and post-punk he might have formed a band like Tone Rodent. At the very least, he would have played its records very loud.
