In present-day Hamburg, Russian-Chechen Issa Karpov seeks asylum as German and American anti-terrorist agents go on full alert, sometimes cooperating, sometimes at cross purposes. Heir to his father's fortune held in a Hamburg bank, the Muslim Issa may have philanthropic motives or may have jihadist intentions. Director Anton Corbijn's "A Most Wanted Man" will work to untangle the intrigue.
"Nymphomaniac Vol. 1" had something to say and a clever way to say it, what with all the graphics and flashbacks and analyses. But "Vol. 2" demands much and grants little. It will make even the least prudish person turn away to cover your eyes or roll them.
"Out of the Furnace" wants to be a blue collar, gritty film, and it succeeds. Two brothers pursue different paths: Russell still employed at the mill, younger Rodney floundering, heading off to Iraq.
