What would would you like to share with KDHX listeners and readers about yourself?
I strive to epitomize true love, and support and serve as a beacon of unity. From a young age, I immersed myself in music, starting with Opera at the age of 5, performing at prestigious venues like the Fox Theater. With a global presence, I have collaborated with esteemed figures in the music industry. Not only am I a DJ on a top-tier station, but I'm also a national recording artist, with multiple singles streaming nationwide. Kalonda Kay embodies the essence of music, art, and entertainment.

Please describe the inspiration for your show.
The inspiration for the Radio Riot is rooted and fostering community, diversity, and inclusivity. It aims to provide a platform for people from all walks of life including the LGBTQ+ community, to share their stories, experiences, and talents. The focus is on uplifting and supporting the community by showcasing a wide range of voices and perspectives. Additionally, it provides opportunities for artists to have their music played on air, further enriching the cultural landscape of Kalonda Kay. Overall the radio show serves as a beacon of unity and celebration of the vibrant tapestry of the community.

Why does being a KDHX DJ matter to you?
Being a radio DJ for KDHX in a community like mine is crucial because it Taps into the stream of artists and their stories allowing them to be heard and celebrated. I come from a rich background of music and influence in my family deeply rooted in broadcasting and media so there is a unique opportunity to not only share my own experiences but also to amplify the voices of others. Through this platform, I become a voice for the community serving as a conduit for expression and connection. By prioritizing the narratives of others over self-promotion, I cultivate a space where diversity thrives, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment for all.

Why is KDHX important to you and to your community?
In a community where my artists lack the opportunity to have their music played on Airways globally, a local radio station such as KDHX becomes an invaluable platform for amplifying their voices and talents. It serves as a beacon of positivity spreading messages of hope, inspiration, and unity through their waves my voice becomes synonymous with the spirit of the community delivering a daily dose of encouragement and support for listeners near and far. By championing local artists and their creations, KDHX cultivates a culture of appreciation for arts, fostering a sense of Pride and belonging among the community. Through the power of music and shared experiences KDHX becomes a unifying force, transcending barriers and celebrating the richness of cultural diversity.
